The game is played with plastic or ceramic chips. They are typically blue or green, but may also be red or black. The chips are generally counted to determine which ones are winners. In some games, a player’s contribution to the pot before the deal is also considered a contribution. A player who puts in the most amount of chips is called an active player. In some games, a player may be required to shuffle the cards before the deal.
A “straight” poker round consists of one betting interval. A player’s “best” hand is the one that combines the best five cards in their hand, along with the best five cards in the pot. A “straight” hand can be a straight flush, three of a kind, or a set. In a split pot, a player who has exposed pairs is given a higher limit.
